"This painting is an exercise of creating difference through repetition, which as reference to Deleuze’s theory. Rashed wanted to create a body for each sensation that she felt within the duration of a week. Each sensation and emotion takes over and becomes its own body, which results in bodies that can look alike but are oriented slightly differently. These collections of bodies are all compressed within a square canvas to convey the feeling of holding all of our sensations within ourselves. Every sensation can tie itself to another but it becomes its own being, never repeating itself intrinsically."
